2000 Fiat Seicento Citymatic 0.9
Summary:
Great little car for nipping about town!
Faults:
Only minor niggles so far. I suspect that Fiat build quality is not the best. Little plastic bits have fallen off from the interior (for example, the plastic around door locks) but nothing drastic. Interior has worn a little, but the car is now nearly four years old!
General Comments:
This is a great car for small trips. I have only been out of town with it a couple of times. Mostly used this cute little Fiat for going to the local supermarket in! I don't think this is a very good long distance car. Would be uncomfortable and rattly... So far, it's started first time, every time - even in the coldest weather!!!
However, this car is slow. But if you're going to buy something with a 0.9 engine, what more can you expect?!? On the plus side, the fuel economy is fantastic. The car will go on and on with one tank of petrol...
Semi-auto gear box is great fun once you get used to it! Had Fiat check it out when I have taken it in to be serviced to make sure it's all in tip-top condition. Service has been carried out every 9,000 miles. I read on here that the gear-box on older models caused problems?? Not happened to me yet, touch wood.
One other thing, I find the brake and accelerator too close together! This can be remedied by driving without shoes!!!
Hope this little review is of a little help to you!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hi, my wife runs a Seicento Sporting - it's her 4th successive Fiat with the "FIRE" engine. We have never had any noise from any of the cars engines like described.
The three previous cars have been run by her for four years and 60-70,000 kms without any trouble, the present is now 20 months and nearly 30,000 kms old and has never seen the inside of a repair shop - the 15k km service I did myself.
My wife has always found the small Fiats charming cars and all 5 in total have proved very reliable.
Regards,
Erik
