2002 Fiat Seicento SX 1.1
Summary:
A bargain - the best 1.1 around
Faults:
The car reliability has been good thus far, a loose clutch cable from the start- each time it is fixed it becomes loose again resulting in poor lower gear shifting and the classic Fiat crunch into reverse.
General Comments:
Bar the clutch cable the car has been a perfect first car, very forgiving. It was supplied with Goodyear Eagle Touring tyres that had a good (20K) life, but were very poor in the wet. Recently I replaced the tyres with Pirrelli Rosso's and it was the best investment I have ever made. The road holding and steering is the best for any car under £14000, better even than the fabled Uno Turbo. New ignition cables will see this car beat most 1.4 litres off the line, but beware- the handbooks fuel consumption figures only apply if you drive like a slug, give it a little foot and you will be lucky to get 15 to the gallon! Dealership was expensive for such a cheap car- £130 for a service and they tried to charge me £50 for anti-freeze.
All round a great little car, and drives like a go-kart with a gearbox.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
