Summary:
Cool as ice: the best car I ever owned
Faults:
The bodywork started to get a bit rusty, so I had it spray-painted at my local garage at a really low price.
Clutch plate broke and had to be replaced after 195,000 miles.
Dynamo blew and had to be replaced after 199,000 miles.
Gearbox packed up and had to be replaced after 206,000 miles.
General Comments:
Bought a 27-year-old old Ford Escort mark one 1300 Sport for £100. Had it modified with Recaro sports seats and metallic yellow paint.
The clutch, ignition, gearbox and bodywork started to show their age.
But the rest of the car was as tough as old boots and never let me down.
After four years sold it on to a family friend for £250.

I own a 73 1300 super! it's a awesome car mate. all I had to do was recondition the gearbox and replace the clutch. have a bit of a vibration at about 4000rpm though. happy motoring.
