Faults:

Not much has gone wrong with the car. The previous owner had had it serviced regularly, and it was in good condition when bought.

Clutch at 60k miles, but not a problem because the car had been used in town a lot.

Battery at 75000 miles; not unexpected at that age and cheap to replace.

Some welding was done on sills for MOT. Rust showing in all the usual Fiesta places but not terminal.

Drivers' door lock wore out.

Finally, the power steering rack started to leak. Cost of replacing it was more than the car was worth.

General Comments:

Very reliable small car

Fuel economy just over 40mpg

Engine a bit noisy but very reliable

Mechanically good and cheap to insure and service

Cheap motoring has given me excellent service. I am sorry to see it go.

Faults:

Rust on the back wheel arches, and more serious rust under the sills.

General Comments:

Although I have not done a serious amount of miles, it seemed to handle well, but lacked performance when you really needed it.

It can keep up with most modern cars, but that is all it does. Its 0-60 figures show that the engine is not as capable as some other engines, ie Pug 205 1.6 GTi.

The interior is amazingly comfortable, and the bucket seats grab you when you are cornering hard.

If this car had a 2.0 litre, it would the right chassis with the right engine, Ford so nearly got it right!!

General Comments:

A very brief relationship with this high maintenance vehicle.

Whilst it drove quite well, quite nippy... when it would start, I never felt quite safe.

Interior quite cramped, and stuffy thanks to the handle broken off the window winder and only a pop up sun roof. The velor interior was reminiscent of sitting in a teenagers bedroom in the eighties!

Not a true hatch as although the back seat folds, only the back of it, so it sits high and theres little to be gained in boot space.

It amazes me that Ford remains so popular. Whilst I appreciate this was a 12 year old car, rust was bursting from every seam, and this was not a bad example!

Never again!

Faults:

The only problem with the car was that the rocker head gasket had failed and was leaking oil, this was easily fixed by my dad.

Nothing else is wrong.

General Comments:

It's a lovely little first car for me. It is a special edition model featuring power steering! Yes, power steering and dual airbags.

Has no rust on it at all, not even the rear wheel arches.

It's a joy to drive. We couldn't believe that it had power steering on it, but the old lady who owned it from new gave us the original sales brochure, which shows that it has the power steering.

Had a full service history and is immaculate inside. The only fault is the rear wiper works when it wants to?

Anyone else had this problem. My dad has put a brand new motor in, and this still has not resolved the problem.

The car still has the original spare wheel, which has never been used!
