Faults:

Engine locked and had to be replaced after the oil pipe burst on the Duel Carridgeway. Rear clusters needed replacing, New Brake Discs and Pads, Power Steering Rack gave in and had to be replaced. Lower skirting on front and rear became chipped and weathered. Gear stick has wooden spoon in porridge effect.

General Comments:

Lovely car. As a young driver I'm forced to give credit where credit is due and say that the Ford Fiesta is the best car I have ever driven. Based on its low insurance costs and its ability to conserve fuel. The Fiesta is a car that I bought in the hope of modding it up a bit, but so far I have pumped money into keeping it alive. However after you get over the enitial tweaks you must do. It's a brilliant car. The Equipe I own has power steering as standard which I found a benefit as I learnt to drive with power steering. It makes the Fiesta a bit more of a joy to drive and nippier.

Faults:

Rust on sills and wheel-arches.

Lower suspension arms worn to excess.

All shockers leaked and needed replacing.

Heater matrix leaked.

Indicator stalk had bad connection.

Rattles galore, seats, parcel shelf & trim.

Anti - roll bar brackets snapped at rear.

The most annoying thing ever is the intermittent judder as though the engine's not getting fuel properly. I've had it on rolling roads and Bosch diagnosis machines, but it still does it. Unbelievable!!

General Comments:

My example is a really good looking car with the RS spoiler on the back in Mallard green, although it looks purple and blue when the sun catches it right.

The seats are great, really supportive. You don't realise until you drive something without the huge bolsters and you end up with rib-ache!

The engine is pretty swift, 90 bhp and a decent amount of torque. 0 - 60mph comes up in 10.9 seconds, not nine stated in one of the previous reviews.

What amazes me is the fact that it will pull cleanly from 20mph in 4th gear and not labour at all. It will also pull itself up steep hills un-flustered at 1500rpm, 40 mph in 5th gear. You can almost drive it as an auto so long as you stay above 30mph!!

Faults:

Rusted brake pipes.

Car overheated, fan switch replaced.

Starting to notice a little rust under the arches.

Rear shock absorber worn.

General Comments:

Very quick, good in all gears.

0-60 in about 9 seconds. Max 115 MPH.

Good for both town and motorway driving.

Cool bucket seats which really hold you in well. Nice interior trim too.

Car handles very well for a small car, sticks to the road like glue.

Faults:

Steering rack: 250

Steering column: 100

Two front tyres: 100

Front bushes: Done by Ford

Front control arms: Done by Ford

New shocks all round: 450

Back box needed replacing at 55000

Back arches started to bubble, re-sprayed panels: 300 for both.

General Comments:

The seats are very comfy, the wings on them hold you in good on bends.

The standard stereo is crap, replaced it with a Sony, what a difference.

This car is not known as a boy racer car, but when I decked it with a Koni suspension kit and put on Oz super T's 15 inch and added a pipercross air filter, boy did it start moving. Had it rolling roaded, it came out as 102 BHP from 90 BHP, and the 0-60 time was 8.5 from 10 flat. But the handling was out of this world.
