2006 Ford Focus C-MAX Ghia 2.0 petrol
Summary:
Poor
Faults:
A lot, mostly wear and tear. Seemed to go through brake discs and pads like crazy. Heavy on tyres also. Mechanic checked alignment and suspension, could not find cause, and I drove carefully.
ABS sensors, oil leaks, coolant leaks.
Poor interior and exterior quality - paint was peeling here there and everywhere at only five years old. Inside the dash had cracks. Plastics broke.
A/C died. Electric mirrors failed.
General Comments:
Can't fault the Focus C-MAX for comfort and space, but everything else was... terrible.
2.0 petrol automatic is not exactly fast and barely gets 33 mpg. Insurance was OK, but some repairs were expensive. Not a cheap vehicle to run.
Very spacious as mentioned. Interior comfortable, good visibility all round. Ghia model had electric everything.
But it was a poor MPV, there are better. The car just had such a cheap nasty feel about it and I was glad when I sold it. Honestly no better than my previous Kia!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

A brief update on my car. Having now travelled almost 12,000 miles in my C-Max in 7 months the car has had its first service which cost a whopping £178 which I consider to be unreasonable, especially as the car now pulls to the left which it did not do before the service. I will return to the dealer this afternoon to get this minor niggle sorted.
That aside, the car has continued to serve me well with no faults. It's versitility continues to impress and the easy access is appreciated by my elderly parents. I would now definately buy another car from this manufacturer and my face would be bright yellow and beaming if I could change the icon.
If you want a practical, economical car and don't mind the lack of image, the C-Max is a excellent choice - if you get a well built example!
