2001 Ford Mondeo Ghia X 2.5L V6
Summary:
Motorway cruiser that can also do a good job off them
Faults:
Both rear seized handbrake cables replaced at 40,000 miles.
Rear sub frame replaced at 40,000 miles due to shot bushes.
Luckily both were changed under warranty, but I hope that the new sub frame lasts a little longer!
General Comments:
The car is extremely quick mid range. i.e. 60 mph to 90 mph, but is not as responsive at lower engine speed as my Nissan Qx was.
It handles really well for a car of it's size and is an extremely comfortable ride for a family of 4.
I am not too pleased with the climate control as it appears to keep the car too hot or too cold!
Fuel consumption averages 28mpg and rises to 31mpg on motorway runs.
Lots of electrics to play with as well!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I agree with the first reviewer.
First, you bought a family car at the lower end. How can you compare it with a sport car?
Second, the 1.8 liter is very economic let's say. It's not for race. I have the same car with 2 liters and I reach its limits constantly.
Third, that car you talk about had no maintenance or a very poor one. What you explain is not a design problem. So who is to blame? Repair it.
Noise: soorry it's not true at all. Or maybe was knocked hard and the body deformed.
I drove or was driven in more expensive cars and over 150 km/h many make noise: wind noise, lateral mirror noise, tire noise. Mondeo Mk2 has other problems, but not this one.
Finally: I understand your dissatisfaction with a Mondeo after a BMW (why did you sell it if was so good in first place?!) but try to be a bit objective.
Kind regards,
