2001 Ford Mondeo Zetec S Estate 2.5 V6 petrol
Summary:
A big thumbs up!
Faults:
Nothing so far.
To new for me to tell.
Do not expect much to go wrong if properly serviced.
If it does it is likely to be a lot cheaper than the likes of Saab or Volvo!
General Comments:
Having had a 2.2 Diesel before this car feels scarily quick, with lots of punch!
I am averaging about 32 miles per gallon without really trying for non-motorway driving, and I don't have to change gear much for leisurely driving, emulating what I liked about my previous diesel.
The handling has also impressed me.
Its is a great load carrier, especially when you are carting around 3 Labradors!
Do not buy new! Huge bargain at approximately 2 years old though!
I have not really been surprised by the favorable comments on its looks that I have received, its very appealing.
For somebody who is 6ft 5 inches tall this car is very comfortable to drive.
You cannot buy such a sporty, well built, capable and comfortable large estate for this price anywhere else.
Servicing quotes I have received are positively cheap compared to my Renault.
The insurance was also comparable despite the bigger engine.
Not looking forward to replacing the 18 inch wheels though - but they are nice!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

The electrical matter can be more dangerous than it looks.
I had some problems like you described, on my Mondeo reset radio, etc. Nobody could tell what happens. When died, it proved the battery had a short in it. You can become stranded in the middle of nowhere with the windows open and so on. Take care.
