Faults:

Nothing out of the ordinary for the age and mileage. Brakes needed attention and the timing belt is due for replacement.

General Comments:

The Mondeo was supposed to be a "World" car and I think Ford got that right. The car is just good at everything.

Plenty of power and economy from the 2.0 TDCi.

Zetec is a middling spec, has all the electrics you would expect from this car.

Interior is very comfortable, seats are great.

The car drives unbelievably sharp, love the handling.

A better car than our other car in the family, a 2010 Seat Altea. The MPV's might have that bit more space and practicality, but a traditional family hatch/saloon car cannot be beaten as an all rounder. Shame a lot of cars like this are going out of production in favour of silly crossover MPV's and SUV's.

Faults:

Suspension and brakes have been the most expensive, but wear and tear at the mileage. Air con is not as good as it used to be, and the driver's seat is looking worn. I keep the car serviced on time. Cosmetically the car looks as good as new.

General Comments:

Never thought I would buy another Ford after a pretty poor experience with a 2005 Ford Ka as my first car which rusted away to nothing. This Mondeo however is light years away from that car - it is 10 years old and no signs of any rust or any major issues.

Mondeo is just such a fine all round car - spacious, comfortable, economical, no wonder they are a popular sight.

1.6 "EcoBoost" petrol is fairly rare considering most of these cars are diesel. The petrol engine's strengths are in refinement and smooth quiet running. Fast as well, a healthy 160 bhp, actually faster and more powerful than early 2.0 petrol cars! Does a solid 44 mpg as well, just as economical as my old Ka!

Zetec spec is mid range and has enough equipment for me, electric windows, air con, alloy wheels, etc.

Just a great car and I recommend it if you are after a good all round family car; and check out the petrol engines, they are not too bad on fuel and more reliable than the diesels I would say.

Faults:

Nothing while I have had the car, only had it two years and put about 20K mileage on it. All services have been carried out and I will continue to look after this car. I will change the timing belt soon. Turning on the A/C at first it is a little foosty, but expected at ten years old. May just need a re-gas.

General Comments:

Mondeo "Zetec Business Edition" is near the top of the range and is well equipped with all the electrics you could want. I love driving and travelling in this car.

Good looking exterior with nice alloy wheels and metallic silver paint, chrome inserts here and there. Very smart car.

Tax and insurance are very reasonably priced for me, a middle aged guy with twenty years driving experience. The 2.0 turbo diesel is strong and will get you about 50 mpg. The car handles very nicely and gear-change is slick.

Rear passengers have plenty of space and comfort. No complaints.

As I approach 90K the car is still holding its value very well - worth about the same I paid for it two years ago. It is a better car than my previous 2009 Vauxhall Insignia - not a bad car, but just not as nice as this.
