1997 Ford Probe 16v 2.0 petrol
Summary:
Looks good!
Faults:
Nothing much, had it two years and not done much mileage, bought as a usable classic, the car had full history and all common issues attended to before my purchase.
General Comments:
Incredible looking 1990's coupe, this Probe looks sharp in black metallic paintwork.
Surprisingly spacious and comfortable for an older coupe. Leather seats in great condition for age. the car has electrics (and they all work!).
2.0 16v is not very fast, but you can get over 30 mpg from it. Manual box is fun to use, the car handles OK but nothing special. In all honesty the V6 24v is the obviously better one to go for.
Still, I have been into rare coupe cars for a long time and this Probe was too nice to pass up, despite being the lowly basic 16v version.
But it's a head turner - people like it and ask me about it all the time. I put on a more modern looking set of alloys (original 3 spoke wheels were ugly and too small) and it has transformed this car's looks.
Plan to use it more this summer. Amazing looking car, enjoying it so far! Might try the more modern Cougar next!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I have just purchased a Probe and I like it so far. It's a V6 2.5. Have you any tips to look after or is it just pot luck?
