1969 Ford Zodiac MK IV Executive 3.0 V6 petrol
Summary:
A real looker. Very comfy, but dear to own!
Faults:
Needed a new exhaust at 45000 miles.
Needed the gearbox rebuilding at 50000 miles.
Needed a new universal joint at 52000 miles.
Needed a new track control arm at 52000 miles.
General Comments:
When I obtained the car it was 33 years old so don't judge too hard!
Performance of manual version is about the same as a 2005 standard spec Focus! 0-60 mph in ten seconds.
Supremely comfortable with acres of legroom (15' 6" long!).
Thirsty by today's standards, returning 15 round town, and up to 25 on the motorway at a steady 60. Approximately 22mpg at 70mph.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I`ve just bought a mk1v Zodiac 1968. Excellent to drive and comfortable with loads of room inside. Has the classic look and even smells old inside.
This car turns heads wherever I go. All I can say is awesome, but juicy on the fuel front.
Parts don`t seem to be too difficult to get hold of. Thanks for reading.

Wow! a real rarity today. I always liked the zephyr/zodiac range, the exec looks like a yank car. fuel consumption put me off owning one. I also like the mk3 zode.
