1995 Honda Accord LX 2.2 SOHC
Summary:
Modest, but reliable
Faults:
The front two windows roll up very slowly. This is a known problem with Accords in this generation. I had to add silicone lubricant to the window rails and it helps, but in order to maintain the faster response you would have to do it every year.
General Comments:
The car is an average car in many ways, but the reliability of the engine is this car's best mark. I have had no real problems with this engine. I had routine oil changes from 3K to 4K ever since I got the car from my mother at ~50K and it runs strong as it did when I got it.
My only real gripe about this car is the power. Since the LX only comes with 130-135 hp it isn't very fast, but good enough to merge into traffic and commute. If you want a bit more power you go for the V-6 version.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I am a 66 year old widow on a fixed income. When I bought my 1995 Honda, I expected to have it forever from all the good reports I had heard about the car. I am so discouraged and disappointed in my car. I have loved the comfort of the car and about 6 months into owning my car I started having problems and two recalls on it. I have had it towed 6 times because it stopped on me and just about everything on the car survey list I just read, plus more, has happened to me and my car. I could have paid for two cars for the money I have put into this car. I have two friends with 1996 Honda's and they haven't had even one third the problems I have with my 1995. Today I am just so unhappy and discouraged, that I had to vent. Will I buy another Honda? I don't know. I am afraid to take the chance. I am taking it in to the dealer tomorrow to see what is wrong with the gas gauger, the mileage gauger, and the lights on the dash board not working. Also, the car is stalling at the lights and takes two or three times to get it to turn over.
