1994 Honda Civic esi 1.6 16v

Summary:

I just love this car

Faults:

Nothing it just go and gos.

I wich I brought one sooner it allways put a smile on my face.

General Comments:

Yer the car is fast when pushed.

When I took it on a race track it done 130mph flat out so for a standard, 1600 16v is good (threes not Marney 1600 what can do that.

People say Honda is Overrated I don't thick so try leaving with a Carlton or a 306 that's what I call rubbish. AND YES I HAVE I HAD BOTH AND OTHER CARS.

Hi there.

I have got something not right with this car now.

When you start the car, there's a rattle coming from the engine, but when it is hot you don't hear it.

Any one know what this is?

Try the esi's bigger brother the Vti; now that's a quick car for a 1.6 liter. It has been taken off the clock at 145mph, but I don't think its accurate, though.

The rattle is likely the exhaust manifold heat shield, which is made of thin aluminum. Over time, the aluminum gets a few cracks or loosens from the cast iron manifolds. So it will rattle until the car warms up. Not a big deal, and trust me- every Japanese car I've owned did this. Won't hurt a thing.

I took it to the garage and got it checked out; you were spot on.

Thank you.

1994 Honda Civic LSI Coupe 1.5

Faults:

Nothing really, just the general service and timing belts changed - not that it was going, but changed just for my own peace of mind overall cheap and very reliable.

General Comments:

This car is very cheap, and it gives you performance, reliability and style for a great price.

I have owned a BMW coupe, and if you compare a BMW 1.6 3 series coupe to 1.5 Civic Coupe, the BMW has the style and luxury, but the Civic is where I would be. That's because I am a young man, and I have raced a 318is and left it to die, because the Honda has rapid acceleration. It's also stylish for the money, and it has a lot of potential for aftermarket products fitments.

So I would recommend this car to anyone who would like a car for everyday use, in the sense of reliability and style, and also to anyone who wants to modify it.

As for the interior, you can fit Prelude bucket seats in it, and maybe perhaps an h22a engine.

The hatchbacks are OK, but if you have a vision of keeping it a Honda, like fitting various Prelude parts in like the engine, then you would see that the Civic Coupe is what the Prelude should have been; a reliable stylish sports car from Honda.

In the future I would go out of my way to purchase a Honda NSX, simply because Hondas are great cars to drive. A great piece of engineering

1994 Honda Civic ESI 1.6

Summary:

Awesome!!!

Faults:

Both rear callipers seized due to the car being stood for 4 months before I took ownership.

Standard Honda alarm and immobiliser problem left the engine dead due to the fault. Now sorted.

Insurance - a rip off at group 14! Tax too.

General Comments:

A pretty good car overall, and looks great even now after all these years. Plenty of street cred and aftermarket parts.

The vtec engine is brilliant. It will rev to 7200rpm with 123bhp, and that makes it a car not to be messed with off the lights. Will hit 60mph in 8.7 seconds.

Had a dabble with Saxo VTR and it burnt it, animal.

Reliability is very good, and these can be picked up for about a grand for a good one.

If you think the ESi, is quick you should try a VTi, it's insurance group 16, but it's worth it. It's 160bhp and it will hit 60 in 7.0-7.5 seconds.
