2000 Jaguar S-Type 3.0

Summary:

Had worse

Faults:

Passenger door window fuse keeps blowing. I get the message; fuel computer data error, then it cuts out. As you can imagine, it's quite dangerous when traveling on the motorway.

General Comments:

In general, quite a good car apart from the latest problems.

2000 Jaguar S-Type V8 Saloon 4.0L

Faults:

Box is slipping a little.

Replaced suspension bushes.

General Comments:

Dec. 2000, V8, beautiful, in immaculate condition.

Worried about the automatic box that is slipping the odd time. When it catches it is sharp. I noticed there was a replacement box fitted when I was replacing the lower shock bushes. An alloy plate on the transmission says so. 109000 miles now. Two boxes sound familiar. Maybe I should have bought the 540 I was looking at before.

My Jaguar dealer couldn't wait to check for recall work when I was buying those bushes. At least I didn't buy it new.

I feel gutted for the guys who lost so much on theirs. If you are reading these posts for the time, you have been suitably warned.

2000 Jaguar S-Type 3.0

Summary:

The best car I have ever owned... a real head turner

Faults:

Front driver electric window is faulty.

Loud squeaking noise from suspension and steering.

Boot is not fitted properly resulting in the "boot open" being constantly displayed on the computer display panel. Warning momentarily disappears only if the boot is manually pressed down.

I would appreciate it if any of the readers could suggest a remedy to the squeaking suspension, and the boot fault.

General Comments:

With the exception to the minor faults previously listed, this car is a pleasure to own.

2000 Jaguar S-Type 3.0 petrol

Summary:

Early model rushed to market

Faults:

Water hose blew leaving me stranded on motorway.

Computer locked me out.

Drivers seat is so narrow it caused cramp.

General Comments:

Having had new cars for the last 30 years this was my first Jaguar and it let me down badly (a new experience)

The drivers seat in this early model is too narrow and nips ones hips. (Interesting that in the latest revamp the handbrake has been taken out to allow a wider seat.

The car is quite small inside. The drivers seat retracts to ease entry so at first you don't notice how cramped the cabin is.

I now have a Honda Legend with less charisma, poorer road holding, but a lot more comfort and reliability (I hope!)

Hey I own a 2000 s type also & have the same problems you have. I also owned a Lexus before my Jaguar. I wish I would have kept my Lexus.
