Faults:

Exhaust.

Brake calipers seized.

Small oil leak - just needed a new rocker gasket, no big deal.

A/C dead.

Some rust on exterior rear arches. Interior also very worn.

General Comments:

Last of the older shape Mazda 6's for 2012. I got a really good deal on this car as cosmetically it was a bit rough.

But it has returned with reliability - had it one year and put about 15K on it with no major issues.

Feels pretty modern for its age. Great to drive, handles very well. Ride is smooth. TS model has lots of equipment.

1.8 petrol engine has reasonable performance and economy.

The car is nice to look at inside and out, love the styling of Mazda from this time period.

Just a cheap used car, hard to say much more. For the purchase price of £1000 a year ago I cannot complain, the car is basically scrap value now. But for a bit more money if you get a nice one they are worth it, easily as good as any car in this class.

Faults:

ABS sensors, rear exhaust, suspension knocking from front, changed shocks, brakes needed attention last MOT + service.

General Comments:

My blue Mazda 6 estate car has been a great used purchase the last few years. Large, comfortable, relatively economical, and considerably cheaper to buy than rival cars, the 6 estate is a good option for large family use.

For an estate car it handles very sharp. The 2.0 petrol engine has a healthy 153 bhp and pulls the car along just fine. Struggles a bit for 40 mpg but I prefer this engine over the diesels, I have heard they are not as reliable as the petrol units.

The car looks the part, nice alloy wheels. Quite stylish interior as well. Comfy seats and good visibility. TS model has lots of equipment.

Last of the older shape for 2012, this model is an improvement over the 2002 - 2008 car. 2009 - 2012 models looks best in my opinion. Might try the newer 2013 onwards model next, I have been impressed with this car.
