1991 Mazda MX5 BBR Turbo 1.6 turbo

Summary:

Fantastic fun

Faults:

Touch wood, absolutely nothing!

General Comments:

I was looking to replace the thrills I used to get riding a motorcycle with less of the drawbacks ie death or serious injury.

This one came up at the right sort of price, and being the factory approved BBR turbo model with almost 50% more BHP and torque, well...

It's seriously good fun, and unlike my old Alfa, you actually think it will get from A-B without having to worry!

Would recommend one of these to anyone, and you can pick them up early ones for a song these days.

1991 Mazda MX5 Eunos Roadster 1.6

Faults:

Nothing has gone wrong with the car that wasn't caused by me :-) It runs perfectly and starts EVERY morning. Keep the oil changed and it runs forever! No leaks from the soft-top or hard-top.

General Comments:

There is NOTHING at the same price that gives so much! It isn't the fastest of cars, but it handles much better than anything else I've ever driven!

1991 Mazda MX5 1.6 petrol

Faults:

Heatshield over exhaust rattles, battery petered out at 50k, plug leads wrecked when water got into recesses on top of head.

General Comments:

Best car I'd ever owned. Cost 16k and sold for 9 k after 4 years and 57k miles - not bad depreciation at all.

I cried when I sold it (well, nearly).

1991 Mazda MX5 Eunos Roadster 1.6 petrol

Faults:

Electrics are a bit dodgy, fuses tend to blow when it gets very wet.

General Comments:

A brilliant, fun car. Looks amazing with the roof down & even though they are quite common now, people still look at it with a smile when they see it. Only bad points are 25mpg, poor for a 1600 car and the boot. What Boot?
