2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C180 SE 1.8 petrol

I love it!

Faults:

Small oil leak.

Sub frame rust (MOT advisory).

General Comments:

First of the "new" shape C-Class for 2008, this car is gorgeous and has typical Mercedes quality. I love being in / driving this car!

C180 is a fairly basic model, but in SE spec it still has plenty of electrics. The interior is as comfortable as you can get and the ride is smooth.

VERY nice to drive. Quick and still economical for a petrol engine and automatic.

At 17 years old it won't last forever, and I'll need to replace that sub frame at the next MOT test, but for a car of this age it is all acceptable. Exterior wise the car is unmarked, and interior is as good as new. Even the engine sounds great at over 100,000 miles. Transmission shifts are smooth.

I got lucky though - finding a well looked after car. Avoid cars with missing history, these get real expensive if you get a bad one!

Summary:

Not worth the money, don't buy!

Faults:

The dashboard is giving way too many noises all the time, straight from purchase.

General Comments:

The mechanics of the car are good and can't be faulted, but the interior is of such poor quality, that Mercedes should be ashamed of putting it in their cars.

This seems like a pretty extreme review.

To make as bold a statement as "do not buy this car" while citing no reasons except for "some noises in the interior" seems a little excessive and unreasonable.

No mention of things like how the car drives, reliability, safety, security, ergonomics, comfort, performance... just a single complaint about some interior noises.

Of course everybody has the right to express their opinion on things, but this sounds like the type of person who would gives a local restaurant a 0.5/5 rating and say "Warning to everybody - don't ever dine here!!" based on on the single explanation of "one of my wedges was a bit salty".

Agreed, there are a few of these types of reviews which make them really useless. Not questionable, just useless.
