Faults:

Nothing yet, but it's early days.

General Comments:

Only had the car for 500 miles... bought it for a bit of summer fun as nothing else for the same money was as interesting.

Has full service history with the all important receipt for head gasket (£1750)!!

It's a nice car with striking looks and smart interior.

Does feel like a bit of a toy though compared to Mazda MX-5, which I think is more driver focused (couldn't buy an MX-5 as I'm male and feel they are just too girlie).

Fuel economy is reasonable with 30-35 mg, dependent on how you drive it.

Handling is OK, but you can find the limit rather too quickly.

Will post more once I've actually done some miles.

Faults:

Only had my 135 for 1 week & found rusty sludge on the dipstick. It appears there is rust sloshing around in the sump.

General Comments:

Fantastic looks, mine is 4 years old & mint with only 19K on the clock.

Keep tyre pressures correct as I find handling & feel of car is erratic & scary if they are too low. Especially the rear wheels.

Faults:

Leak from passenger door from Day 1. Took car back and leak returned. Warranty ran out due to MG Rover problems Driver window stuck so needed new door and window. Holes now in drivers door. Engine light flashing. Twice in last month. Driver door refused to open. Had to climb over to passenger seat every time I had to get in and out of car!!! Various other faults too numerous to mention. For a brand new car I'm disgusted!

General Comments:

I love the car. Its yellow with black soft top and very eye catching, but all the problems far outweigh the good points. I'm very disappointed. I have a Corsa that is over 10 yrs old. I have NEVER had a problem with that. Still looks brand new.

Faults:

Hole in roof (replaced)

Gear box problems.

Bonnet badge replaced.

Window seals replaced (carpet and speakers kept getting wet)

Door straps replaced (Doors would not stay open and would shut on your shins)

Foam in passenger's seat replaced.

Drivers side window dropped off its rail.

Scratch on windscreen due to wiper blade coming out of its tooth.

Head gasket blown.

Misfiring and causing sensor problems.

General Comments:

My first impressions of the car were great. It looked great, sounded great and drove like you would expect a 160BH car to perform.

The price of the car was good when compared to all its competitors in the same performance group. What was the catch I asked myself?? Well I found out within 2 days when the first of a number of horrific faults started to prevail as listed above.

Faults:

I had constant problems with the clock. This was replaced after 2 weeks of owning the car. Eventually the fuse then blew behind the dashboard causing:

1. Clock to spin backwards madly (like something out of a horror film). Very funny buy annoying.

2. Stereo Lights to turn off, so the radio can't be used or CD's played.

Other more minor problems included:

1. All sorts of rattles from the chairs, dashboard and other places.

2. carpet coming loose from the driver side (it has been stuck down with velcro?)

General Comments:

The MGTF is a fun car, but certainly not a well built car. The build quality is quite poor, and I expected far better.

The handling of the car seems very unbalanced in wet weather. With 135bhp straight to the rear wheels, you have to be careful when navigating bends. I've skidded a number of times, but this is to be expected in a rear wheel drive car.

The brakes are CRAP. Absolute and utter rubbish, these would not stop a mini. I would recommend getting the up rated brakes if you buy a TF.

Fantastic fun in the summer. With a dry road and the roof down, it is a great little car. The MG still turns heads with the roof down, and I think looks fantastic.
