1996 Mitsubishi Colt Mirage 1.6 16v
Summary:
Vastly underrated sporty coupe
Faults:
The windscreen wipers failed on a couple of occasions. The nylon bush holding the drive rod to the pulley wears, and falls off. I fixed it by drilling a hole through the whole arrangement and putting a thin bolt through it. It's never let me down again.
The driver's electric window stuck down, but was fixed by merely refitting the drive cable over the pulley. Still going strong today.
General Comments:
Excellent drivers car, for it's size and performance. It's fun to drive EVERY day, and I've had it for over four years now. It's unbelievably reliable and has never let me down. It has never been serviced (shame!) and I've only ever put fuel and oil in it when required... and it STILL starts first time, every time and runs as sweet as a nut. Testament to Mitsubishi's reliability. My other car is a Shogun which is also unfeasibly reliable.. touch wood!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

This is my second car. It's a 1.300-12V 5 speed from 1996. It was the last one from Belgium before the new model. Now I've 140.000Km, and I'm always satisfied of it. The engine goes very well (75HP) and my maximum speed is: 195 Km/h!!!
The engine sounds very well, I like to drive with it. It's a better car than a Peugeot 206 1.4HDI or Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec,... The interior's quality is good (but not perfect), but I've problems with the windows, with the joints, with exhaust pipe, with color, the battery is not enough powerful, and little electronic troubles (interior lights). In general, it's a good car.
