1994 Mitsubishi Shogun GLX 2.8 turbo
Summary:
Great value for money
Faults:
Only problem I had in four years, is a leaking water pump.
Had a few problems on cold mornings starting, which was due to worn out glow plugs. The set cost only 80 pounds, which sorted it.
Brake pads and discs replaced.
Complete exhaust system and new injectors, all replaced at 105,000 miles.
Most items just replaced were original equipment, so they have lasted very well.
General Comments:
The press has recently been giving 4x4s in general a lot of bad remarks. However since I have owned the Shogun, it has proved to be a very reliable and practical vehicle.
It seats seven in comfort, has a host of extras, which come as standard, a good driving position, and for a 2.8, returns 30 mpg on a run.
It's a bit juicy around town; about 23 mpg.
I bought the vehicle to tow our caravan, which it does in its stride.
There are no signs of rust anywhere. The interior is still as new, even though now 12 years old.
On the whole, an excellent vehicle.
