1996 Nissan Almera SRi 1.6i 16v twin cam
Summary:
Part leather trim is nice, but the sports seats can be harsh
Faults:
I put it through a fence, but no fault of Nissan.
General Comments:
For a small engine it's fast and quick off the mark. Handles like expected of a sports model Nissan i.e. brilliant. Top speed I've done is 127mph with a bit more in it, the majority of miles I cover are at 110mph+ and I've had no problems.
Mine has the GTi brakes, fast road pads, Nismo front bumper, Evo 6 type bonnet vent, DTM splitter, also league tantrum alloys & HKS air filter. I fitted an exhaust heat shield, Momo harness pads and leather gear gaitor, CT racing aluminium gear knob and Sparco pedals, also motorsport style mats and colour_co elect. M3 type wing mirrors.

Since this review I've fitted Nissan 200sx touring leather seats, white dials, and dimpled & 10 grooved F. disc, EBC Greenstuff brake pads, Sunny GTi-R spoiler, Almera GTi rear skirt and aided performance with -35mm Spax springs and Sparco F. strut brace, K&N induction kit with custom twin cold air feeds, s/steel cat back Scorpion performance mandrel bent exhaust, FSE power boost valve, and braided s/steel brake pipes all round. Also fitted Falken 502 tyres.
The car's now got 130BHP approx. The Almera SRi is a great underestimated hot hatch, and only group 7 insurance! Buy one.
