Couldn't ask for much more
Advance and retard unit failed within a few months of purchase, replaced for £50.
No other problems as yet.
This car is excellent if you are looking for an inexpensive, reliable and comfortable 1st car. This is my 1st car and I hope to keep it for a number of years yet.
Ideal for nipping round country lanes or rolling through town.
I use mine to commute 30 odd miles a day and starts up without fail every morning no matter how cold it is.
Gives a relatively smooth ride, the suspension does tend to feel a bit bouncy and she leans quite a bit if you take corners/roundabouts to quickly.
This car is best driven slow and steady for economy and comfort and is happiest cruising at 50mph. Though she can reach speeds of 90+, things start to get very shaky.
Can be very quick off the mark with plenty of revs, too little and she judders. Can get away as quick as most cars twice the size though passengers affect this greatly.
With five people in the car things get very slow and heavy, inclines become a challenge, but she's still managed to get up some of the steepest hills in our area with a bit of a push.
Would recommend this car to anyone, especially those with concerns for climate change. If everyone owned a Micra the world would be a slightly better place.

Great first car, good in town, no long distance runner though!
Drove into car park wall, crumpled quite bad even though I was driving quite slow (4mph). Needed a new wing, bumper and respray.
Few rust spots, but that's to be expected on a car this old.
Four seats, don't recommend four passengers.
Good town car, quite nippy from 0-40mph, after that it struggles quite badly in 4th on the motorway, as it's a 4 speed gear box. I found that if you boot it in 3rd up to 70, then ease into 4th, you're laughing!

Japanese muscle for a low cost
New gear mountings were needed at 58000 miles and at the same time I needed a new rear number plate bulb.
15 inch alloy wheels rubbed on the rear arches. I had to have them rolled.
From stand still this car is extremely fast. (0-30)
Once the alloys were fitted there was no problem when going around corners.
I had a new back box fitted to the car 3 months ago and it sounds more throaty than most I have ever heard on other cars!
I love the shade of Grey of the plastic interior.
The car is not very good in higher gears although I did manage to reach 97mph on the motorway.
Excellent range of parts can be found at most scrap yards.
Superb fuel economy.
Once the car is washed and waxed the colour looks like new.

A reliable little workhorse
Needed a new back box for the exhaust.
Radiator hose started leaking.
This car was an absolute diamond - even if it did look a bit like an upended wheelie bin.
It was my first ever car and my dad gave me it for nothing.
It only cost me £20 in repairs in two and a half years even though it had done well in excess of 100000 miles.
It was really basic inside and out, but it started first time every morning and passed its MOT every time.
The radiator hose started to leak and I got rid of it for a Renault which caused me nothing, but grief.
I look back on this car with fond memories!

Cheap, Nippy, Reliable. Worth any price!
The only problems it gave me were with the idling jet, which is common with Micras, but more than easy to find a replacement part.
I change the oil and spark plugs regularly, and my friends, although cringing to get into a micra, think its the most nippiest of cars.
All in all, a very reliable car. I primarily bought it to transport myself from Waterford to / from Dublin, a journey of 100m / 160km one-way, and hoped to make one return journey a week.
Two years later, this little Micra still makes the journey in often less than two hours... not bad considering Irish roads. And I made the epic Waterford to Belfast run in just under 4 1/2 hours, which is brill for any car.
The car still looks good, it was in brilliant condition when I got it, and still is. Extremely nippy, reliable, and most importantly, CHEAP CHEAP and Cheap to run. Sometimes I think the petrol / air intake balance is wrong it uses so little petrol!
A Bargain, and I'd definitely recommend it.
