2011 Nissan Tiida 1.6 petrol
Summary:
Rare, odd car from Nissan
Faults:
Recently had major work done to the suspension, same for brakes. Acceptable at the age and mileage.
Interior is not wearing too well, seats a bit flat, a lot of broken plastics, electric windows and other switches are also a little erratic.
Engine, gearbox, and bodywork are all solid however, that's the most important parts. The car has had every service and I continue to look after it.
General Comments:
My silver Tiida is a rare car where I live in the UK. I rarely see them about and people always ask me what the hell it is. Generally it's too anonymous looking to stand out, but anyone who likes cars always takes an interest in asking me about it. And they always call it a "Tilda" at first for some reason when it is of course Tiida.
I tell them they are not missing much, it's a pretty middle of the road car. Reliable, but that is all. Interior is as grey and dull and Japanese as you can imagine. Just about comfortable enough, and has enough basic equipment. Mine is the boot version like a saloon, not hatchback. I think with alloy wheels it might look better, but I don't think I'll bother, normally wheel trims annoy me but on this car who cares.
Nothing special to drive either, 1.6 is slow but will do you 38 - 42 mpg on average.
To conclude if you ever see one of these for sale and are after a cheap reliable car, go for it. It's something a little different, but also a very generic and boring car at the same time if that makes sense.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
