2007 Nissan X-Trail Aventura 2.0 turbo diesel
Summary:
Great car... worrying engine
Faults:
DPF light came on, but blew it out as per directions from the dealer.
Now have engine management EGR light on... told it will cost £200 to replace valve plus £200 work costs.
General Comments:
I am seriously worried now, having read the reviews on this site... my Nissan Aventura 2.0 ltr drives like a dream... but the light stays on EGR. Problems say the dealer???
The service manager says that they do not have many problems like this... as an 08 Xtrail arrives on the forecourt on the back of an AA truck???
Nissan need to accept that there is a problem with the EGR / Turbo thing, and get to grips with it...
I bought this car to tow my caravan... I am not satisfied that there will not be other problems... think I'll be going back to Ford...
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

If you listen to everything you hear, you won't even buy a Rolls Royce.
I have had numerous Fords, would not touch another with a barge pole, but that is my opinion. I have had 3 Renaults and could honestly say every one of them has been an excellent car; we all need to have an open mind.

Well David, after 10 years of almost problem free diesel Focus ownership, I would still not touch a Renault product here in Australia, due in part because no one here knows how to fix them when they go wrong as well as parts being expensive and taking months to arrive from France. So I stand by the comments, thanks.

I was looking seriously at these here in Australia, until I found out the diesel engine is from Renault. Not worth the risk after all I've heard about Renault products. Think I'll keep my '07 TDCi Focus.
