Faults:

So far nothing, but both the drive shafts will need done in the next couple of weeks.

General Comments:

Bought the car for peanuts a few months ago.

Interior is in perfect condition.

Exterior has a couple of little bumps on the passenger door.

I heard the XS was quick, but I was still surprised when I drove it, bearing in mind a used to drive a Renault 19 16v and a mk1 golf!

I've put on a new set of 195x45x15 rims on it which has helped the handling a lot.

Next will be lowering it and perhaps a full stainless steel system.

Car starts first time every morning, again bearing in mind I live in Aberdeen.

Cheap insurance for a young driver or someone with a badly endorsed licence.

Nice little motor for the price and the performance is 2nd to none for a 1.4!

If your lucky enough to find a good one, buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Faults:

Dead battery.

Corroded driving lamp wiring needed replacing.

A lake forms in the drivers foot-well when it rains.

Drivers side seat bolster collapsed.

Valve stem seals have perished.

Coolant system has a slow leakage.

Exhaust middle section blew a hole in itself and needed replacing.

General Comments:

Handles like it's on rails - an overused analogy, but in this case it's spot on. Unless you lift off mid-corner that is...

The interior is basic and rattly and space is confined (not good for people over 6' 2") but the seats, though flimsy, are very supportive.

Exterior wise, all I can say is "you can't improve on perfection"!

Faults:

Front and rear shock absorbers needed replacing.

Track rod ends needed renewing.

Battery Died.

Alternator Blew up.

Brakes were vague to say the least.

Head gasket started leaking.

Rear torsion bar seized up completely.

General Comments:

This was my first car, and only cost £500.

The bodywork needed straightening and respraying, as it appeared to be made from tin foil.

It idled badly and stuttered at lights

But after a fair bit of work the car was seriously quick, and for a car that had been so abused and covered so many miles it drove superbly.

The lightning acceleration and snappy steering could easily catch out a novice driver, but this car was so much fun.

Then rear torsion bar seized up and I sold it on.

Faults:

Clutch went at 90'000 (costs of nearly £200 to replace)

Central locking was very temperamental.

Sun roof leaked.

Electrical problems involving the stereo and dash board.

Manifold didn't fit down-pipe, led to a constant blowing that was never fixed.

General Comments:

This car was seriously good fun despite all its faults, once lowered and on a set of 15" alloys this car looks seriously good as is a almost gti replica.

The biggest criticism of this car was the extremely expensive insurance (its only a 1.4 not a gti) and how much Peugeot want to charge you for parts, much better off going to a motor factors for everything.

Faults:

Since I have had the car the only thing I have had to replace is the windscreen at 64000 miles. It came with a full service history.

General Comments:

This car is very fast off the mark.

There are a lot of modifications that have been made to this car since I have had it and there are a lot of extras to add on.

The insurance is high.
