2002 Peugeot 307 Rapier 1.6
Summary:
A lovely car if you get a good one!
Faults:
At 500 miles, I went to the supermarket with the children in the back - fine. Came out of the supermarket to come home and the passenger rear door wouldn't open. No matter what I tried the door just wouldn't open. Took the car to the dealer and was told that the central locking motor in the door had failed - a new part had to be fitted.
In December 2002 the drivers rear door did exactly the same thing. A new part was ordered and I'm still waiting! To be honest I'm getting sick of the kids having to scramble across the seat to get in and it's not doing the seat much good either!
From new the inside of the car was constantly misted up. If I run the air con. it clears, but as soon as you turn of the fan it mists up again. Front carpets were constantly damp even when it hadn't been raining. It got to the stage where if the car had sat in the sun, the condensation was so great I had to squeegee the windscreen and soak up the water with a towel before I could go anywhere. Took the car to the dealer first time they found nothing. Complained again and they took another look. They discovered "a leak behind the dashboard" on 16th Dec. '02. New parts ordered including all new carpets. I'm still waiting!!!
Would be interested to hear of anyone else having water leak/misting up problems like this.
General Comments:
I like the car. It's spacious and comfortable. I like the way it drives and it's great for the kids (when the doors open!) The boots a good size and I like the look of the car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I bought a new 307 2.0 HDI in Jan 2003 I returned it immediately for a front suspension mechanical noise and massive ingress of water within body under windscreen. After a month failure to cure the water problem the car was replaced by Peugeot. Now after 1000 miles I have returned the replacement car with a windscreen leak.
