2003 Peugeot 307 XR HDI PAS ABS 001398 CC

Summary:

AT present POOR

Faults:

My car started to lose power suddenly one day going home from work. Next morning going to work the warning light came on with the words "Anti Pollution" also shown on panel. I rang my dealer and he came to drive it to the garage to have it checked out. I received a phone call from the dealer as I was going to lunch and I could not believe what he was telling me over the phone. He said a lot of damage had been done as a result of this pollution and it would cost 3800.00 to repair. As one can imagine I suddenly lost my appetite. I couldn't believe so much damage could happen if the filter was doing its job in the first place. Talk about modern technology. The question I would like to ask and get an answer to is this. Why didn't the car stop immediately thus eliminating the risk of further damages to other parts.? I would like to know if anyone out there experienced a similar incident. Regards. Frustrated Peugeot 307 Driver.

Hi.

I've just had the anti pollution warning light appear today, is it going to cost me to get it sorted?

Cheers.

Summary:

If you want a nice car, don't buy a french one!

Faults:

On cold start up, the engine squeaks, took it back to Peugeot and they had a look and found the flywheel was the problem. Left it with them for 2/3 days and replaced clutch and dual flywheel (£700), and the problem has occurred again after one month of having a new flywheel (700 miles ago).

Having problems with getting it into gears at times, the worst being reverse.

Oil filler cap came off completely and had to ask Peugeot for a free replacement.

Just yesterday I had noticed that I have a loud clunking noise when I'm going round a corner and letting the clutch out from changing into 2nd and 3rd gear, so going up to see Peugeot tomorrow, but have noticed that it's not the suspension, clutch, gearbox, flywheel, engine components or wheels, so it might be a wheel bearing, cv joint, bushes or anti roll bar (s).

General Comments:

The car is a nice quiet drive when it's not in need of repair.

The car is very comfortable wherever you drive, even if it's a short or long distance.

Lots of head and leg room in the back.

The boot is too small.

Window screen wiper on the driver's side is too small, but bigger on the passengers side, but I know why this is, it's so the wiper wipes the rain and light sensors on the screen.

Nice big spacious room in the front.

Bad design fault with no rubber seals all the way round the back doors and dirty water splashing on the bodywork.

Rear tailgate's gap between the glass and the metal work has been poorly designed because dirt gets between it, and I have found the only thing that gets in that gap is soapy water and a toothbrush.
