2005 Peugeot 307 S 1.6 HDI 110

Summary:

Very good so far

Faults:

Everything is OK so far. But have only had it for 5 days or so.

General Comments:

It pulls well through all gears and easily accelerates in town or on A-roads or motorways. On the motorway I was able to accelerate from 70mph to 100mph very quickly without any problems at all. At 100mph the engine is at 3200rpm and still eager to pull. The torque delivery is very smooth.

Looks great.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Like you I have just purchased a PEUGEOT 307 1.6 S. The car is 11 months old and has done 10500 miles. I am very pleased with the specification and handling, but I have a couple of problems with it. I will be taking it back to the dealer I bought it from to look at the problems. I would be interested in your comments.

1 When the engine is up at temperature and it is sitting ticking over there is a slight smell of petrol inside the car.

2. The clutch seems to have a very high biting point (i.e clutch pedal nearly fully out).

The clutch problem is a minor one - requires a small adjustment.

2005 Peugeot 307 CC 2.0 diesel

Summary:

Fabulous to drive and to look at. Faults are annoying

Faults:

Windows leak really badly when washing car.

Door alignment on both doors significantly out.

CD/Telephone system works intermittently. About 80% reliable.

Boot can't always be opened by pressing the '0' in 307.

General Comments:

Although I love my car, the faults are seriously annoying. I am sure that once they are rectified I will love it even more especially as the summer is on it's way.

The performance is pretty good for a diesel. Sits very comfortably doing...mph in 6th gear.

I do think it is slightly noisy. My children think it sounds like a truck.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Interesting you seem to have all of the faults I have with my 307CC, however the windows leak when washing the car because you might not be locking it - which is what you have to do.

The windows lower a fraction to allow you to open and close the doors, the sensor which works really well (always detects my hand near the door handle 100% of the time) will also sense car wash brushes, jet washes etc.

So for once that's not one you can pin on Peugeot as being a design fault. :-)

Wait until you have 60k on the clock, then you'll realise how many true faults these cars develop!

2005 Peugeot 307 307S HDI 1.6

Summary:

New Peugeot 307 model great improvement on old one except for terrible windscreen wipers

Faults:

This car is new. Just the windscreen wipers are driving me mad - they scrape all the time and the garages can't or won't fix them. They tell me I will have to get used to it. Can anyone offer suggestions about what to do? Have tried vinegar, power washing etc as advised by garage.

Previous 307 faults (I have a company car and have no choice they say it has to be a Peugeot)

Indicators and lights. Kept sticking on or coming on without touching them. Had numerous replacement units. Was off road for more than 2 months waiting for parts within first 6 months of its life.

Went through tyres like no tomorrows. Have never had that problem with a previous car.

Back door locks seized up - could not open and had to be replaced.

Glove compartment lock broke and would not stay shut. Garage advised me to leave it open!

Broken suspension arm.

Quite a few recalls.

Problems with brake pads and cylinders.

Needed new alternator.

General Comments:

I like the way the car looks.

Good performance and fuel economy.

Drives well.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

The various chemicals you are using on the windscreen are only likely to make the problem worse.

Replace the wipers with Peugeot approved ones, and also use Peugeot's own windscreen wash fluid, and see how things pan out.
