2020 Peugeot 508 Allure Fastback 1.5 HDi
Summary:
Stunning
Faults:
Absolutely nothing! The car is barely 3 years old and low mileage, so wouldn't expect anything less.
General Comments:
The 508 is a stunning looking car inside and out. My car is dark red, with 17 inch alloy wheels and L.E.D lights, really looks the part.
Performance from the 1.5 diesel is good enough even with an auto transmission, and is also economical (60 + mpg).
Inside the Allure model has all the modern electronics you could want. Dash is a bit daunting to use at first, but when you get used to it, it is easy enough. Seats are very comfortable, ride is smooth like nothing I have been in before, and visibility is surprisingly good for a modern car.
The car has too many features to detail here to be honest (this review would take 4000 words or more to get into it) but all you need to know is this - if you have been driving large family/executive saloons for years and want a change for something different, the 508 fits the bill. Modern features you do not like can be turned off and ignored and you can enjoy driving the car. Or, you can get all the settings perfect and enjoy the ease of use.
Back in the day my father had a 405 which was bulletproof reliable. And later on a 406 which was also good. The later 407 was not very good, however I think Peugeot have gone back to their roots here, and created a great looking car that long term should prove reliable. The 508 is well worth a look.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Hired one of these cars for a week last summer. Easily better to drive than the old 407, but that wouldn't be too hard!
