2011 Renault Laguna Coupe Dynamique TomTom 2.0 dCi
Summary:
Unique
Faults:
Not much in my one year ownership. The car had full history and has had the turbo replaced, along with the clutch and an oil leak fixed. Plus all the bills for the usual mechanical wear and tear over the age and miles.
General Comments:
Renault Laguna Coupe - a rare and interesting car.
Not many of these around, and they were not popular even when new, easy to see why - the Laguna was always a step behind cars like Ford's Mondeo and Vauxhall's Insignia/Vectra, regards reliability, but the Laguna can hold its own as a capable car.
This particular coupe model I have is very different from the family saloon/hatchback Laguna that you normally see around. This is an exceptionally good looking and unique car that is well equipped and fun to drive.
Despite its age, it still feels very modern. It's not the fastest car in the world, and insurance is too dear in my opinion, but that car is otherwise OK to run. The dCi engine's reliability is much debated, but like me if you find a car with a lot of work already done and common faults addressed, they are usually OK. Economical as well with always well over 40 mpg from the 2.0 diesel. Pretty smooth and quiet also. Incredible considering the high mileage. But this car has been cared for in good condition.
I just like cruising in this car, it is a looker inside and out and very comfortable. My car is black with grey sports seats interior. It has all the electrics of the time.
The Laguna Coupe is a bit of an oddball, but find a nice one at the right price and it can be enjoyable as a second car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
