1994 Rover - Austin 800 GL 2.0
Summary:
Build quality suspect
Faults:
Both front electric windows stopped working, when operating driver door buttons.
Dashboard top lifted leaving 10mm gap, due to heat from sunlight shining through windscreen. Main dealer could not fix properly, suggested using self tapping screws through top of dashboard.
Chrome door trim continually lifting on rear door.
ABS stopped working due to dirty connection on front brake.
General Comments:
Best part of this car is the climate controls which worked very efficiently.
The car itself appeared to be poorly built, even the interior wood trim was of different shades of plastic.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

You mention wanting to drive a 2.5L KV6. Apparently the KV6 used from 1996 to 1999 was supposed to be very unreliable and often had head gasket failures costing £1000 to £2000 to repair. I'd much rather have a reliable 2.7L that was a bit noisy than an expensively unreliable 2.5L.
