General Comments:
For the money, on paper this car is well, well worth the cash. However as you can see the amount of things that have gone wrong on mine may not justify the cost.
The car is quick enough and the handling acceptable there have been certain problems; read on...
The gearbox is rubbish - especially first gear which is notchy and hard to engage sometimes.
The brakes, although acceptable, are spongy, and after prolonged braking make terrible noises and fry like no pizza on this planet.
Fuel consumption = naff. I wouldn't say that 250 miles to a tank was any good - would you? I read somewhere else that's about the same as a Subaru. I say take the Subaru. If it wasnt for my company fuel card I wouldn't afford to pay to run the damn thing (spent about £6700 over 42k miles??!!!)
Everything seems well screwed together until you do about 20-30k miles, then the rattles and squeaks appear. At the moment mine makes this annoying creak-click noise from somewhere in the chassis when turning tight corners on pulling away, whereas my friends old mk 3 Golf has none of that.
The dealerships are laughable - rude, and not the slightest bit interested in your problems (well that's my findings - the one in Kingsbury, London and Letchworth Herts aren't worth going to. Marshalls of Bedford are the nearest to me and they seem to do a fair job)
Everything seems to be so hit-and-miss quality wise.
Have had to have the front valence and bonnet resprayed due to the paintwork being as soft as putty and chipping at the mearest hint of grit being tossed in its general direction.
I do around 20-25k miles per year - mainly on the M1 between Luton and London, surely the car is up to this??
I'm just sick & tired of it being in the garage so much I don't know if i'll ever get another one.
I'll stop now before I get too upset.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Hmmm, your experience seems similar to mine - bad.
As for fuel consumption, my Leon Cupra, used about 10% less petrol than my 02 Subaru Impreza WRX PPP with 265 bhp does, which bearing in mind it (the Seat) has almost 50% LESS power and a Hell of a lot less performance, isn't too good is it?
