2004 Seat Leon 130 TDI SE 1.9 turbo diesel
Summary:
Fantastic value, reliable and good performance
Faults:
EGR replaced at 156,000, this is the only major cost, other than normal service parts.
General Comments:
The car has been exceptionally reliable, is serviced every 10,000 miles. It is the most enjoyable car that I have owned with good performance, and it puts a smile on my face every time that I drive it. Can achieve up to 62 MPG, but averages 55 MPG. No regrets buying this car.

I have a Skoda Octavia, recently bought it, a 2003 model, diesel. It is mostly a VW car. I agree with you about the harsh ride, so much so I have swapped it with my partner, who has a much softer riding Pug 406 diesel, and I am now happy.
Other than the ride, I was happy with the car.
