Faults:

In the time I owned it the water pump had to be replaced twice.

Suffered from overheating when idling causing the tappets to be very noisy.

Other than that, 149,000 mile when I sold it and still going strong, speaks for itself.

Rust starting to show when I sold it.

General Comments:

Very fast car with VW Golf engine, hence the reliability.

Lots of toys on this model (GLX) but the interior could have been a bit more sumptuous and brighter.

This car looks like a saloon, but is a hatchback with a huge boot. However this is at the expense of legroom in the back.

Faults:

Rear section of exhaust (from manifold onwards) : £180.

Now needs a one hundred and twenty thousand mile service (cam belt change) which costs at least three hundred pounds (over £500 at a main SEAT dealer)

Problems with automatic choke, soon to be fixed (hopefully!_

General Comments:

Good car overall. feels a bit under powered at first, but when you get used to it the engine needs to be rev-ed to be usable. great on motor ways and dual carage ways would cruise along at 115mph if U. K limits allowed. Apart from the usual not much gone wrong (yet!) and very practical as it has a massive boot, also the rear seats fold down, making it very practical at transporting large loads. The brakes could be better, but maybe this is down to he millage of the car and that the brake fluid is due to be replaced.

Faults:

Heater control (which is a common problem with this model), electric window, clutch, rapid plugs. All fixed very swiftly!

General Comments:

Fantastic build quality, which hints of its Volkswagen connections, very economical, and quick for a diesel!

And handling is very good for such a large car. As they are fairly cheap the Toledo represents excellent value.
