2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0 turbo diesel
Summary:
Would like to have it back working. It would be great then
Faults:
The car is losing power when driving at a steady speed in fourth gear. Revs die down, changing gear or clutching can not bring up any revs, and the car cuts out and stops on the road. Not safe. Thought we had dirty diesel first as it happened after a fill; stopped 3 times in approx 10 miles. Did not happen again for a couple of hundred miles, then lost power on another three occasions within 15 miles of each other. Intermittently seems like there is a limiter on the revs.
There is a delay in the engine turning off after the ignition has turned off.
Has had a new power steering belt, clutch, and alternator.
Advice would be appreciated. I am hearing a lot about sensors that are expensive, and are only possibilities.
General Comments:
Light jeep, very economical to run.
Had been great, but something is now wrong and it needs to be fixed, or retired.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Could be a number of things. I would change the fuel filter, spark plugs, etc... Then if it's not that, I would get your fuel pump tested.
