1991 Toyota Previa GL 2.4
Summary:
Without question, best of the people carrier bunch!
Faults:
Air conditioning was not at its best. Had to have a recharge of the gas after having it converted to the new ozone friendly stuff, system pressure checked OK. I was recommended to have the system serviced every 2 years (£80). Toyota do not do the conversions for some reason. The system has been fine ever since.
General Comments:
Superb multi purpose vehicle, seats 8 comfortably with room for a couple of sets of golf clubs plus overnight bags behind the back row. The seats can also be laid flat to become a bed. With back row seats lifted to their stowed position there is ample space, the last time we went camping I had 2 teenage cycles, plus all the camping gear and could still see through the back window!
Heating/ventilation system is a bit irritating in that you can only have certain combinations ie windscreen/feet or face/feet etc. You can't have cold face air with heat wanted somewhere else. Small whinge I know, but very little else to moan about!
Quite a lot of road noise compared with my BMW 530, but I soon get used to it, and it sits quite happily at 90 MPH.
Have made two trips down to the south of France this year (2000 mile round trip each) and has not missed a beat.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
