1993 TVR Chimaera 4.0
Summary:
Could be great, but pathetic build will put you off
Faults:
Leaks, all over - boot, doors and floor.
Speedo packed in.
Radiator replaced.
Windows keep blowing fuses.
Clanking noise on tight slow turns.
Bonnet fell off, due to corroded pop rivets on a hinged bracket.
Despite all dealers efforts, including skimming the discs, you had to be Garth to apply the handbrake.
Shock absorber changed.
Interior door opening device constantly malfunctioning.
General Comments:
Great looks, V8 sound, super performance.
But all of this is outweighed by the never ending niggles and dealer rip-off costs.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I agree with the positive marks and I too had my fare share of niggles.
Leaks, windows that would not wind down, radio kept draining the battery and had to be disconnected to prevent drainage, new radiator, hot start kit had to be added, head gasket went with suspected cracked head. Exhaust started spitting out black bits in water.
All this in the three months I had it. Never cursed a car so much and got shot of it. I would never touch a TVR again, even the newer models.
