1990 Vauxhall Astra Starmist 1.6 petrol
Faults:
Electrics (aerial,windows).
Leaky sunroof.
Numerous oil leaks.
Flaky paint which came off in patches. Dealer repaired each patch (though never offered a full respray). Apparently due to a manufacturing fault.
General Comments:
A little unrefined in some areas.
Stupid starmist name.
Good 'GTE' look alike with many extras.
Good Performance.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have now had the car resprayed in the same blue, put in a digital dash, GTE bumpers and sideskirts, tinted rear clusters from a GTE and GTE clear front indicators as well as a GTE 16v rear hatch. I have sprayed all of the GTE plastic bits that come with the bumers, satin black, have replace the registration plates with new ones, put green stuff front performance pads and am about to change the rear shoes and drums. The car has a 1.4 engine and is a very good runner... hold on... I think ill write a review!

Love this car. sported up looks fantastic. original paint job a bit crap, but got respray with new body kit. looks lush and drives even better. plus I only bought it for 600 quid. bargain.

My silver star-mist is flaky too, but I love the car it runs well its got a great shape and is so comfy. those seats are lush and all the little extras are great. really nice gte look and there is plenty of leg room as I am quite a lanky bloke.

I am also an owner of an Astra starmist and too have the flaky paint going on. This car holds the road so well. Really impressed as I paid 50 quid for it!!!

Ditto, I own a metalic blue star mist and I LOVE it because it is luxurious, feels like a space ship and I can sit in it for hundreds of miles without needing to stretch, can't fault the car apart from bits of the paint keep flaking off!
