1979 Vauxhall Cavalier 2000GL 2.0
Summary:
A sensible low cost classic
Faults:
Well nothing really has gone wrong with the car - when I bought it, it needed some fiddling. There was an immobiliser fitted which prevented the car from starting and someone had put the plug leads on the wrong way. Once these were sorted the car has been purring happily and starts without the needs for the choke.
The car is in very good condition for it's age with very little rust.
General Comments:
A very under-rated car. Coil sprung rear axle means it is very comfortable and handles really well. It is quite prone to be tail happy, which is good if you like that sort of thing, but not so good if you aren't used to it!
Seats are quite comfortable and the interior in general is very welcoming.
If you get a good one, buy it!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I had a white 1600 Sports Hatch back in 1988/1990. Best car I ever had spax adjustables all round and other bits and bobs can't remember the reg, but I think it started with LNK...V. Would love to trace it if it were still on the go. I sold it to a guy in Moray.
