2004 Vauxhall Corsa SXI 1.2 Twinport
Summary:
A great wee car, you won't be disappointed
Faults:
The drivers door leaked through the top, but an extra door seal sorted that.
Front passengers side wheel arch cover blew off when I drove through a large puddle.
The radio & clock display bulbs went, but fixed under warranty.
The air conditioning has a stale smell?
General Comments:
What better could you buy new for this money? (£8000), well not a lot! it looks great, goes well, quite roomy for such a small car.
After a few cosmetic problems when new it has always started first time every time and is such a joy to drive!
It handles very well on the back roads, it can keep up, if not beat the larger cars on the motorway and squeeze into small spaces in the city. It is a great all rounder.
When you walk around the SXI it stands out from the rest thanks to the big alloy wheels, sporty headlamps and fog lamps, the side skirts, tinted rear lights and the spoiler. I got mine in ultra blue which stands out a bit more than black and not so easily scratched.
In the car the SXI trim continues with alloy gear nob and handbrake, silver center cosole and handles, white dials and sporty front seats (which are very comfortable).
Bad Points- The fabric is easily marked especially the fabric door inserts. There is a loud thud when it hits a bump, the sills need covers to stop them getting scratched with people getting in and out and the unpainted plastic fades quickly.
Good Points- it's a very comfortable car, I recommend spending a bit extra and get a front armrest and air con is a must. the clutch and steering is so light, it has a great wee gearbox which is quick and slick, the follow me home headlights were they stay on for 30seconds, decent boot, plenty of cubby holes and its fun to drive.
If I was getting another I would get a 1.4 twinport with leather seats and a cd player with the built in phone, but after saying that I'm very pleased with the one I have!
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Did vauxhall correct the problem of leaky doors, under the warranty? I have same problem.
