Faults:

Nothing but servicing and wear and tear parts replaced at MOT time.

General Comments:

Grey 2013 Insignia, common sight on the road, but a really good looking car.

SRi model has harder suspension - handles very well.

2.0 diesel is fast enough and does 60 mpg, can't say fairer than that.

Love it and hope to keep it a long time, have heard of reliability issues with diesels as they age, but I do keep it serviced on time and done the cambelt. Also watch out for oil pick up, common part that fails and the engine can seize. But these cars are easy to work on, once you know their common faults it is easy to deal with and you have a great driving economical car.

Faults:

Cam-belt, brake discs and pads, exhaust, suspension drop links, thermostat, the usual stuff for age and mileage.

Various air vents have broken inside.

General Comments:

Early 2013 Insignia, last of the older shape before the late 2013 update. Much prefer this car's looks anyway. Stunning in SRi spec with black paint and 18 inch alloys. Had this car not been so common and maybe had an Audi badge, people would notice how good it looks.

Very comfortable ride even with the sports suspension for the SRi. Quiet and smooth on the motorway. Cruise control is amazing and makes for a relaxing drive.

Seats are very comfortable in this SRi. Looks good as well, interior has stylish touches here and there. The car feels very well built (apart from those air vents, which seem to crumble to dust!).

Boot space is massive. Electronic parking brake was a pain at first, but I am used to it now.

1.8 petrol is not the best on fuel, does a solid 40 mpg with long summer cruising, but can drop to low 30's mpg about town and in winter. Has decent power though and is silent and smooth. I much prefer this engine over a diesel anyway, I have heard they have reliability issues.

Vauxhall dealers are not interested in cars of this age now; do yourself a favor and find a small independent garage to keep running costs down for servicing and repairs.

Overall for a used Vauxhall I have had for a couple of years, it has been a great car.

Faults:

Full dealer service history and I have continued to have it serviced at a local Vauxhall specialist and had no problems.

General Comments:

The Insignia is a common sight on the road, but when you look at this car, it is very well put together and smart looking. First of the face-lift cars for 2013, an improvement on the already good looking Insignia when they came out around 2009.

My dark grey Design model looks good with alloy wheels, inside the dash is also very stylish. The car is comfortable and quiet on motorway cruises. Space is good. I'd go for an SRi though - Design is a bit basic, not much equipment compared to similar cars or higher specs.

2.0 CDTi is a bit rough at lower speeds, but goes fast when you need it, and can get over 55 - 65 mpg taking it slow. Insurance, and servicing have been cheap for me, the car is very economical. Gear change is smooth and the car handles OK.

They make a great used buy for the money. A very easy car to live with.
