Faults:

Worn Timing belt replaced at 83000 miles.

Blown air meter at 84000 miles.

Blocked injection system at 90000 miles.

Rattling passenger seat and loose trim from day of ownership.

General Comments:

The car is reasonably equipped and provides an extremely comfortable ride on long journeys.

The fuel consumption is astonishingly low for the size of this car and will return in excess of 34 mpg on the Motorway.

Parts are incredible expensive and the car is let down by poor service of Opel garages in the Republic of Ireland.

Faults:

Electric sunroof failed.

Brake light bulbs blow continually.

Central locking motor failed.

Gear box needed replacing after 46,000 miles.

Cam belt broken at 46,000 miles resulting in a whole new top engine being required.

General Comments:

The specification is impressive with air conditioning, all electrics heated seats e.t.c.

After two months the car became a disaster I had to have it recovered from the motorway three times in one month.

The cam belt is due for replacement in the 80,000 mile service mine failed after 45,000 miles.

The impact of the cam belt failure knocked out the gearbox.

I have been very disappointed with the performance especially when driving uphill, the car struggles badly.

Fuel consumption is poor my old 4.2 litre Jaguar was better around town.

Where Do I Start!!

Glove Box Lever came off.

Air conditioning radiator leaked (had to be replaced, but found a very nice NON - Vauxhall dealer who felt sorry seeing a grown man cry when they told me how much to replace)

Central Locking Very Suspect (IE I believe the car doesn't like my partner - Passenger Door jams nearly every time she gets in to the car - Now enters the car via drivers side or window) Dealer says "The car is six years old you know, they don't last forever"

Oil light has a mind of it's own.

Have a collection of plastic parts in my garage if anyone whats them - door handles, glovebox handles and other various trim parts.

Best of all!!

Major engine faliure.

Car had only done 78000 miles and the crankshaft gave up the ghost.

Vauxhall wanted to pull my pants down because they wanted a mere £3000.00 for the engine alone and at least 28 hours labour to fit (At the rate of the national debt of a small country per hour plus VAT) This did make me cry!!! -but what do you do - You find a small garage that claims it will only cost £1100.00 but guess what - They pulled my pants down, ended up costing £3200.00 - Still Cheaper than Vauxhall less the small national debt of course.

I now fear the phone ringing at work and they tell me Cheryl's on the phone -NOW WHAT & HOW MUCH!!

Still the kids think it's great that daddy swears at the car.

I think I was unlucky with this car as I'm on first name terms with AA (I think they will refuse my membership next year)

General Comments:

Overall I think this particular car is a Friday afternoon car & I was unlucky.

Fuel economy is not great, but then what do you expect from 2.5 V6.

It is very comfortable to drive.

Well equipt.

Very spacious even with three kids.

I Must confess that it very pleasing leaving the boy racers at the lights when in sports mode.

Faults:

On the second day of owning the car the sensor which allows the car to be taken out of park stopped working. Effectively immobilizing the car.

Within about a month the outside temperature sensor stopped working, which results in the climate control also stopping working.

The outside temperature sensor was replaced and withing 2 months failed again.

Another sensor which controls the idling of the car also started to play up, this would result in the car dying with no warning at all whilst driving along. Very scary when you suddenly lose brakes & power steering on a car of this size.

The outside temperature sensor failed again.

The stereo turns itself off regularly, especially when you select reverse.

The electric windows sometimes like close themselves.

General Comments:

On the plus side this car is lovely to drive although you have to be careful with the back end whilst cornering in the wet.

This is without doubt the nicest car I've had to live with and I will regret I'm sure when I part with it.

The build quality is very good it just seems the quality of the parts fitted are not up to the same standard.
