2001 Vauxhall Omega CD 2.2
Summary:
Excellent car all round, vastly underrated
Faults:
Breather Pipes blocked at 36000 miles.
Brake discs warped at 40000 miles.
Heater Bypass Valve failed at 45000 miles.
Nothing since car had not been well maintained when purchased.
General Comments:
Big and roomy car with massive boot. Excellent level of equipment on this model. Very comfortable with good driving position.
Performance of 2.2 is good. Not the fastest car on the road, but the right sized engine for this size of car for normal motoring.
Due to large access to boot and large access into the passenger compartment it isn't as limited as other saloons when compared to hatchbacks.
Economy is good for the size of car, although it does suffer round town. Car is best on long journeys.
Reliability can be an issue, with dealer services not covering all the maintenance issues. Parts are cheap and OEM parts are good quality and value.
Secondhand price is very cheap for the class of car and the equipment/trim level. The low price doesn't reflect the quality of the car and comfort level.
Easy to upgrade equipment. e. g OEM Cruise Control can be retrofitted for less that £50.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
