Faults:

Battery failed, but it was the original.

Central locking motor on rear nearside passenger door failed.

Front shock absorber leaking, both fronts replaced.

Cambelt service carried out as a precaution.

General Comments:

Excellent value, found it by accident on Ebay as a dealer PX to clear, so took a chance and won it with a stupid low bid. All service books and bills. Rear seats never used as spare.

Drive 400 miles and feel as fresh as a daisy, cruise control great, fast and economical on the motorway, heavy on fuel around town. However it purrs along and is barely run in I have been told.

As others have mentioned, it seems to like higher octane fuel 99; holds gears longer before kick down, and better economy.

Faults:

Crankshaft pick up sensor failed at 75.000 miles.

Front discs and pads replaced at 79.000 miles.

Exhaust has a slight blow at 80.000 miles, but is the original.

General Comments:

I really like this car; it's quick enough, quiet, handles well, and very comfortable.

I've had 4 BMW's in the past, from a 3 Series through to a 730i. I bought a Senator in late 2003 from a friend just to tide me over for a few months; turned out as good as any Beemer, and bought this Omega on the strength and performance of the Senator.

Beemer's might have edge over the Omega all round, but the Omega beats them hands down in value for money overall, and is easily as good.

Faults:

Nothing to date.

General Comments:

This is such a beautiful car which just seems to silently glide along. My previous 3.0 Omega Elite was slightly noisier with the auto gear box being a bit jolty at times. This has been rectified by Vauxhall and the car is a dream to drive. A much welcome addition are the rear parking sensors. The climate control is spot on and the steering is really light. As with the previous model the turning circle is impressive for this sized car and can out turn some smaller cars I've driven.

All the toys are still there and the only minor niggly thing is that some of the grey leather has worn on the rim of the steering wheel. I'm sure I can touch this up. The xenon headlights on the older model were aimed a little low and thankfully have been raised on the face lift model. I love the way the front seats can be adjusted on three axis to get that "just right" comfy position.

I love this car and can say with hand on heart it is a keeper!

Faults:

Central locking went mad & unlocked itself repeatedly after about 18 months. Fixed under warranty. Never happened again

Nothing else at all.

General Comments:

Great comfort for four.

Big boot.

Good acceleration for a big car.

Handles surprisingly well when pushed hard on ordinary roads.

Fuel economy less than 30 mpg overall, but up to 35 on reasonably fast motorway trips.

Best thing of all - it's dark blue and a lot of drivers assume it's a police car - they get out of your way.

I will keep it until it falls to bits.

Faults:

No problems as yet, thought the Climate Control (Passenger side) wasn't working at first. But after consulting the handbook; it turned out to be operator error.

General Comments:

The Omega is an amazingly comfortable car, it is effortless to drive, although it loses its composure and becomes 'rowdy' when in sport mode and at extreme speed (above the legal limit). But if you stick within the law, and try not to use Sport mode too much it's an exceptionally quiet and relaxing cruiser.

Excellent levels of equipment: Xenon Headlights, Leather Interior, Auto transmission, Electric sunroof, Full climate control with automatic air quality sensor and sun sensor, Heated seats, Cruise control etc.
