1967 Volkswagen Beetle 1300 Convertible 1.3 petrol
Summary:
A lot like other small cars, but without the boring bit!
Faults:
The fuel pump became blocked due to sediment in the tank. This was easily fixed and cost nothing.
The automatic choke stopped working at 216,250 miles. Replacing it was both inexpensive and easy.
The hood leaks at the windscreen seal in heavy rain.
General Comments:
This car is without a doubt the most entertaining and satisfying one I have ever driven.
It takes a while to get used to the 'upside down' pedals, but once this has been overcome the car is a joy to drive.
My beetle never fails to turn heads with its unusual styling and unique sound. As a rule driving becomes a much more friendly, relaxed process. No other car gives this much fun.
A Beetle will also rust like no other car, and requires regular and carefull maintenance to keep it on the road.
It is well worth the effort!
