Faults:

My Corrado G60 has been quite troublesome since I first bought it. It is already needing new brake pads and disks, a supercharger rebuild, new tyres and possibly a clutch.

However possibly the most inconvenient of faults is the fact that both the door handles will not open from the outside. This I have to climb through the boot! This is a common fault on the Corrado so it is wise to keep the handles well lubricated in order to prevent this from happening.

General Comments:

This car is a beautiful example of what German engineering can create, sexy, stylish as well as looking somewhat mean. It is a head turner. Even though the car is generally coming down in price it is still a fine motor to own.

The G60 is a legend, Forced induction at its finest. It is a speedy number and can give a lot of pleasure to its owner. However one should note in order to receive this pleasure you must give all your attention to the car.

If you are willing to devote a lot of time and money to this car then you will be a happy motorist.

Be aware of high insurance costs though.

Faults:

Odd things. Both door handles went within 2 months, at £100 to £120 each to replace. New calipers on the back, due to wear, and amazingly, the gear shift selector cable snapped. Apart from that, general wear and tear and dodgy electrics. All parts are really over-priced.

General Comments:

My local dealership are fairly useless and expensive, but I have found a place near Heathrow called Swedish and German which does decent non-dealer parts cheap. The car is expensive to run, a bit noisy and the ride is on the bumpy side of hard in towns. Watch for insurance companies over-rating the insurance group. Lets face it though, you don't drive a Corrado for economy, you do it for love and you couldn't fail to love the engine note when you kick it and the point and shoot handling on bends. Fun fun fun.

Faults:

Oil pressure sender leak (catch this one early or it could be a gusher).

General Comments:

Ageless styling - always a head turner. Good tourer rather than town car - great fun on the open road.

Shame about my new VW dealer (I've moved area) who is not customer driven. (my old dealer was 10/10).
