2011 Volkswagen Golf GT 2.0 TDi
Summary:
A little expensive, but worth it
Faults:
Really nothing much in the year I have had it. Dealer gave the car a full service and MOT upon purchase, and according to the history it is a looked after car.
General Comments:
As my first car I paid a little more than I would have liked for an older Golf, and the insurance on the 2.0 TDi is obviously higher than that of the 1.6 TDi and smaller petrol's, but let me tell you it is worth it!
This car is great to drive. Has around 138 bhp, good for a smaller hatchback car. The higher insurance I pay is offset with lower tax and 57 mpg, so it can otherwise be reasonable to run this car.
I tell you for a 2011 car it looks and feels very modern. The car handles very sharp and I like driving it, every journey has been a pleasure so far. GT edition has electric everything and very comfortable sporty seats that hold you well in corners.
Overall I would recommend this car to anyone, although more expensive to run than an Vauxhall Astra or Ford Focus, the VW Golf is just a more rounded car. Buying used just make sure you get a good one, and make sure at higher mileage the cam-belt is changed also as well as full servicing.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
