Faults:

ABS sensors, new suspension at rear, and generally maintenance.

General Comments:

I have had this silver Passat a few years and it has been a great car to run. A bit dull and slow, but give me reliability any day of the week.

Tech S spec is a bit basic, but I like the wheels and the seats are very comfortable. Equipment level is reasonable.

1.6 TDi is slow but does a genuine 60 mpg. The car is nice to drive.

Getting on ten years old now with higher mileage, but the car looks and drives as good as new, plan to keep it a long time.

Faults:

Timing belt kit and water pump replaced, new brake discs all round. Oil service on time. Leak at rocker cover gasket but nothing serious.

Driver's seat is tearing.

Outside paint a little faded.

General Comments:

A very economical car, cheap tax and 65 mpg, cannot say fairer than that nowadays. Repairs and servicing can be a little expensive though.

The car looks great in dark blue with alloy wheels. Inside is nice also, quiet and comfortable, smooth for a diesel.

Downside is the 1.6 TDi is a bit lethargic; I would prefer the 2.0 I think.
