2015 Volkswagen Scirocco TSi Bluemotion Tech 1.4 petrol
Summary:
Proper old school vibes
Faults:
Not much other than maintenance in approx 33,000 miles and the 4 years I have had the car; it has been excellent. Brakes will need attention soon, and all the usual wear and tear. I keep the car serviced religiously, never misses anything it needs.
General Comments:
My bright red 2015 VW Scirocco looks the part with big alloy wheels and black interior.
Driving this car is fun, but being the basic 1.4 model, it is not fast by any means. Tax and insurance are reasonable however, and you will see close to 47 - 50 mpg. Bluemotion tech spec has a decent level of equipment.
Boot space is not great, but it is a smaller hatchback car. Visibility is good and I am glad the car has a proper handbrake and not a silly electronic button. The car handles very well and is a joy to be in, dash is very well laid out. Seats have that old school checker design which I believe was in the original 1980's Scirocco. I never had an older Scirocco back on the day, but in the mid 1990's a mate of mine had a VW Corrado VR6, and what a stunning car that was.
So if you want something stylish plus a bit different and a modern hatchback with old school vibes, check out the Scirocco. They are a little expensive to buy used, especially compared to the rival cars like a Vauxhall Astra GTC, but I would say the Scirocco is worth it as they are more refined and not a very common sight on the road, so stand out more.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
