1995 Volvo 940 LPT

Summary:

Supperb

Faults:

The clutch flexible rubbed against the sub-frame and burst (bad design) replaced under warranty also the HT lead from the coil to the distributor failed (fixed by the AA) The car is very reliable and comfortable to drive. It has the sunroof rather than the air con and it is a pleasure on a sunny day to drive with the roof open.

General Comments:

The only complaint is the cover on the door cards. It seems to be shrinking and every 940 I have looked at is the same. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to repair this?.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

What is a "door card"??? And why are they shrinking?

The surface film covering the inside of the doors is shrinking on very many of the 940's of this time. Leaving a wrinkly and not so nice look.

Door card, huh? I know what you're talking about though. It's very common for the vinyl skin on the interior door panels to come unglued and wrinkle. It is happening on mine. I was told this is a problem because Volvo switched to a more environmentally friendly glue, but it doesn't hold as well.
